ORDINANCE NO. -�_i / <br />AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO BACK-FLOW AND <br />BACK -SIPHON PREVENTION <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and <br />Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove village, <br />Counties of Cook and Du Page, Illinois: <br />Section 1: That Section 22A.111 of the Municipal <br />Code of Elk Grove Village henceforth read as follows: <br />22A.111. All owners of real property upon which <br />a building has been constructed or is <br />sought to be constructed, and tenants thereof, <br />are required to install and maintain approved <br />checkvalve or back-flow and back -siphon prevention <br />devices in the following instances: <br />(a) Where the water sEq:vice main is two <br />(2) inches or greater in size; <br />(b) Commercial and industrial buildings <br />where the building to which the water <br />service is connected uses water in <br />its process including but not limited <br />to car washes and washerettes; <br />(c) Where the service is to lawn sprinkler <br />systems; <br />(d) Where the building to which the water <br />connection is made is equipped with a <br />pump taking direct suction from the <br />water service main. <br />The location of all such devices shall be determined <br />by the Water Department. A Model G-6 Hersey Sparling Division <br />Beeco, or equal, is deemed an approved checkvalve or back-flow <br />and back -siphon prevention device. <br />Existing buildings subject to this regulation shall <br />install said device on or before May 1, 1968. No new building <br />shall be permitted to be constructed unless the aforementioned <br />
