ORDINANCE NO. O <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER VI OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE <br />OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE RELATING TO THE FIRE <br />DEPARTMENT AND FIRE PREVENTION CODE* <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT (RDAINED by the President and Board of <br />Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and <br />Du Page, Illinois: <br />Section 1. That Chapter VI of the Municipal Code of the <br />VU3A`ge o rove Village be and is hereby amended to read as <br />follows: <br />° CHAPTER VI <br />FIRE DEPARTMENTS AND CODE <br />ARTICLE I - FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />.6 .,10011 Establishment.) There is hereby created and established a <br />Department of the Municipal Government of the Village of Elk Grove <br />Village which shall be known as the Fire Department. Said Depart- <br />ment shall consist of: <br />A Fire Chief <br />Three (3) Lieutenants <br />Six (6) full-time Firemen. <br />6.102 Members of Department.) The Fire Chief shall be appointed <br />B=70 Village President with the advise and consent of the Board <br />of Trustees; other members of the Fire Department shall be appointed <br />by the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners of the Village of <br />Elk Grove Village in accordance with the Statute. <br />6.103 Control of Department.) All Members of the Fire Department <br />sa perform such duties as may be required of them by said Fire <br />Chief and the Ordinances of the Village. <br />6.104 Management.) The Fire Chief shall have sole and exclusive <br />control and management of all matters and things pertaining to the <br />Fire Department, and all officers and employees therein engaged. <br />6.105 Oath and Bond.) The Fire Chief, before entering on the duties <br />of his office shall take the oath of office prescribed by Statute. <br />6.106 Regulation of Members of Department.) All officers and <br />emp ogees of the Fire Department shall be subject to such Rules and <br />Regulations, and perform such duties, as shall be prescribed or <br />required of them by said Fire Chief or the Ordinances of the Village. <br />6.107 Oath and Bond of Other Members.) All other members of the Fire <br />r5FFrtment appointed by the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners, <br />before entering upon the duties of their office, shall take the oath <br />of office prescribed by Statute. <br />6.108 Annual Estimate.) On or before the first day of March of each <br />year, the Fire Chief shall prepare and submit to the Village Manager <br />an estimate of the total cost and expense of providing for and <br />maintaining the Fire Department of the Village during the ensuing <br />fiscal year, which estimate shall be in the form required by the <br />Village Manager. <br />
