ORDINANCE N0+ 394 <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SALARIES FOR THE POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE <br />AND AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 221. <br />NOWy THEREFCREy BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees <br />of the Village Af Elk Grove, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois: <br />Section 1. That the salaries for patrolman of the Village of Elk <br />Grbve Village shall be and hereby established to be as follows: <br />36,400 per annum - for a patrolman with less than one year <br />police experience. <br />,6,700 per annum - for a patrolman with one year but less <br />than two years police experience. <br />37,000 per annum - for a patrolman with two years but less <br />than three years police experience. <br />37,300 per annum - for a patrolman with three years police <br />experiende, based upon merit and upon the <br />recommendation of the Chief of Police. <br />Police experience as used herein shall include services as a law enforcement <br />officer with the Village of Elk Grove Villagers regular Police Department and <br />service with any other village, county, state or federal regular police department. <br />Section 2. Permanency of employment with the police department of the <br />Village of Elk Grove Village shall not be considered in salary determination. <br />Section 3. Within ten (10) days from passage of this ordinance or at the <br />time of hiring a new policeman the Police and Fire Commission of the Village shall <br />ascertain and verify a policeman's prior police experience if any. Police <br />experience shall be computed to the nearest month. Periods of less than fifteen <br />(15) days shall be disregarded. Periods of more than fifteen (15) days shall be <br />computed as a full months experience. Upon ascertainment of a policemants <br />experience the Secretary of the Police and Fire Commission shall transmit to the <br />Village Treasurer the following information: <br />A - The name of the policeman. <br />B - The effective date of employment with the Village of Elk Grove <br />Village's Police Department. <br />C - Prior police experience expressed in months. <br />Duplicate copies of the foregoing shall be sent to the Chief of Police, the <br />Village Manager and the Village Clerk. <br />Section 4. All pay increases resulting either directly or indirectly <br />from police experience acquired as a member of the Police Department of the <br />village shall be effective on the first day of the pay period wherein falls the <br />policeman's annual experience anniversary. In determining the policeman's <br />experience anniversary date prior police experience with other police departments <br />as well as service with the Police Department of the Village of Elk Grove Village <br />shall be considered. <br />
