J ORDINANCE NO.� <br />AN ORDINANCE LICENSING DRY CLEATMRS, SPOTTERS <br />AND SELF SERVICE COIN OPERATED DRY CLEANING <br />ESTABLISHMENTS. <br />NOW, TIM EFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board <br />of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of <br />Cook and DuPage, Illinois: <br />Section 1. That Chapter 22 of the Municipal Code of <br />Elk Grove Village be and is hereby amended by adding thereto <br />the following: <br />"ARTICLE XVI]TDRY CLEANERS, SPOTTERS AND SELF <br />SERVICE COIN OPERATED DRY CLEANING <br />ESTABLISI=ENTS. <br />22.1. Definitions. A "dry cleaner" or "person en- <br />gaged in the business of dry cleaning" is hereby defined to <br />mean any person keeping or using more than two quarts of any <br />solvent other than water, including, but riot by way of limita- <br />tion, solvents of the petroleum distillate type, coal tar <br />distillate type or chlorinated hydrocarbon type, for the pur- <br />pose of cleaning or renovating wearing apparel, fabrics, tex- <br />tiles, drapes, curtains, rugs, blankets, furs, leather, or <br />other material, for profit or reward. <br />A "spotter" or `person engaged in the business of spottings <br />Is hereby defined to mean any person keeping or using two quarts <br />or less of any solvent other than water, including, but not by <br />way of limitation, solvents of the petroleum distillate type, <br />coal tar distillate type or chlorinated hydrocarbon type, for <br />the purpose of cleaning or renovating wearing apparel, fabrics, <br />textiles, drapes, curtains, rugs, blankets, furs, leather, or <br />other material, for profit or reward. <br />22.1 02. License required. It shall be unlawful for any <br />person to engage in the business of dry cleaning or spotting <br />without first obtaining a license for each dry cleaning or <br />spotting establishment to be conducted by such person. <br />22.jV3. Application. An application for said license <br />shall be made in conformity with the general requirements of <br />this code relating to applications for licenses. A separate <br />application shall be made for eacli drz* cleaning or spotting <br />establishment engaged in by the applicant wherever located <br />within the Village. <br />At the time of filing such application, the applicant <br />shall also file an affidavit specifying the type of cleaning <br />solvent to be used, and stating that no cleaning solvent other <br />than that specified in the affidavit will be employed. If at <br />any time subsequent to the filing of the application and <br />affidavit, the applicant desires to change the type of solvent <br />specified in the affidavit, he may do so only upon the filing <br />of an amendment to his application and affidavit describing <br />the proposed change; provided, that compliance is made with all <br />ordinances relating to the use of such solvent. <br />Evers such application shall be approved by the building <br />inspector and the fire chief as to compliance of the premises <br />
