ORDINANCE NO. 175 <br />AN ORDINAM E MINDING SECTION 21105 AND SECTION 2.106 ARTICLE I GENERAL <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees <br />of the Village of Elft Grove VdlUge, Cook County] Illinois: <br />SECTION 1. That Section 2:165 DECIDING VOTE And Section 2.106 ORDINANCES u <br />APPROVAL - VETO be amended to read as followat <br />Section 2.105]�)p <br />VOTE. The Village President shall not vote on <br />any ordinance, resolution, or motion except: (1) where the vote of the <br />Trustees has resulted in a tie; (2) where one-half of the Trustees have <br />voted in favor of an ordinance, resolution, or motion even though there <br />is no tie vote; and (3) in other instances provided for in the Statutes. <br />In each instance specified, the Village President shall vote. Nothing <br />in this section shall deprive a President pro ten from voting in his <br />capacity as Trustee, but he shall not be entitled to another vote in <br />his capacity as President pro ten. <br />Section 2.106 ORDINANCES - APPROVAL - VETO. All resolutions and <br />motions (1) which create any liali lity against the Village, (2) which <br />provide for the expenditure or appropriation of its money, or (3) to <br />sell any village property, and all ordinances passed by the Village <br />Board shall be deposited with the Village Clerk. I£ the Village <br />President approves of them, he shall sign them. Those of which he <br />disapproves, he shall return to the Village Board, with his written <br />objections, at the next regular meeting of the Village Board occurring <br />not less than five days after their passage. The Village President <br />may disapprove of any one or more sums appropriated in any ordinance, <br />resolution, or motion making an appropriation, and if so, the remainder <br />shall be effective. However, the Village President may disapprove <br />entirely of an ordinance, resolution, or motion making an appropriation. <br />If the Village President fails to return any ordinance or any specified <br />resolution with his written objections, within the designated time, it <br />shall become effective despite the absence of his signature. <br />SECTION 2. That all ordinances heretofore passed in conflict with the <br />above noted amendment are hereby repealed. <br />SECTION 3. The aforegoing amendment shall be in full force and effect <br />upon its passage and approval according to law. <br />PASSED this 10th day of July, 1961. <br />APPROVED this 10th day of July, 1961 <br />s/ James R.
