a{DINANCE d0. 179 <br />AN ORDINANCE itEGULA'1'INO AND LICENSING HEAL ESTATE BROKERS 6UPrLEiliEATING THE <br />MUNICIPAL CODE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE OF 1961 <br />Na'47, 'TiiEREFONE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the <br />Village of Elk Grove Village, Cook County, Illinois: <br />SECTION 1. Chapter 22 of the 1,1unicipal Code of Elk Grove Village of 1961 be <br />amended and supplemented by adding the following article and sections which <br />shall read as follows: <br />XIV REAL ESTATE. BROKERS <br />Section 22.1401 LICENSE REQUIRED. No person, firm or corporation shall <br />operate as a broker of real estate without having first obtained a license <br />as is herein provided. Provided that this article shall not be construed to <br />require an additional broker's license from employees of a licensed broker. <br />Section 22.1402 APPLICATIONS. Applications for real estate broker's license <br />shall be made in writing to the Village Clerk. No such license shall be <br />issued to a person who is not a person of good character, and it shall be the <br />duty of the Clerk to make or cause to be made an investigation into the <br />character of such applicant. <br />Section 22.1403 FEE. The annual fee for a real estate broker's license shall <br />be thirty dollars and no license shall be issued except upon payment of the fee. <br />Section 22.1404 FRAUD. It shall be unlawful for any person operating as a real <br />estate broker to practice fraud or deception of any sort or to make false <br />pretenses of any kind, or to represent both parties to a transaction without the <br />consent and knowledge of both parties. <br />Section 22.11105 PE11kLa . Any person licensed under the provisions of this <br />article who is guilty of a violation of any provision of this article shall <br />be fined not less than five nor more than one hundred dollars for each offense; <br />and a separate offense shall be deemed committed on each day during or on which <br />a violation occurs or continues; and upon a second offense being committed the <br />President and Board of Trustees may revoke the license of such person. <br />SECTION 2.
