ORDINANCE NO. 56 <br />AN ORDINANCE establishing <br />official time <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of <br />the VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE, Cook County, Illinois, that: <br />SECTION 1. Central Standard Time shall be the official time <br />within the VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE for the transaction of all <br />Village businesse except that from 2:00 a. m. on the last Sunday in <br />April to 2:00 a. m. on the last Sunday in October in each year the <br />official time for the Village shall be one hour in advance of Central <br />Standard Time. <br />SECTION 2. When reference is made to any time without <br />qualification in say ordinance, resolution or order heretofore passed or <br />which may be passed hereafter by the Village Board or in any official <br />notice, advertisement or document of the Village or in any contract to <br />which the Village is a party, it shall be understood to refer to the official <br />time of the Village as herein prescribed. When the words "daylight saving <br />time" are used the reference shall be to the advanced time herein pre- <br />scribed as the official time from the last Sunday in ApW until the last <br />Sunday in October. <br />SECTION 3. In all ordinances, resolutions or orders of the <br />Village Board and in all official noticese advertisements or documents of <br />the Village and in all contracts to which the Village is a party relating to <br />the time of performance of any act by any officer or department of the <br />Village or relating to the time within which any rights shall accrue or <br />determine or within which any act shall or shall not be performed by any <br />parson it shall be understood and intended that the time shall be the <br />offie l time st the Village as herein prescribed. <br />SECTION 4. All clocks or other timepieces in or upon public <br />buildings or other premises maintained at the expense of the Village shall <br />be set and run according to the official time as provided in Section 1. It <br />is hereby made the duty of the officer or other person having control and <br />charge of such building or buildings and premises to see that said clocks <br />or other timepieces are set and run in accordance with official time. <br />SECTION 5. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon <br />its passage, approval and publication according to law. <br />PASSED: this 28th day of April, 1958. <br />APPROVED: this 28th _day of April, 1958. <br />Charles A.
