Ordinance No. 64 <br />AN ORDINANCE pertaining to <br />fireworks and explosives <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the <br />Village of Elk Grove Village, Cook County, Illinois: <br />Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation <br />to keep or to expose for sale any fireworks, firecrackers, torpedoes, bombs, <br />squibs, rockets, spinwheels, fire balloons, roman candles, sparklers, <br />detonating canes or ammunition thereby, or any substances or articles of <br />any explosive nature designed or intended to be used as fireworks within <br />the Village of Elk Grove Village. <br />Section 2. No fireworks, firecrackers, torpedoes, bombs, squibs, <br />rockets, spinwheels, fire balloons, roman candles or other thing containing <br />any substance of an explosive nature designed or intended to be used as <br />fireworks shall be discharged or set off within the Village , provided, <br />however, that a pyrotechnic display of fireworks may be given at any time <br />when such display is licensed by the Village of Elk Crove Village and when <br />given under the supervision of the licensee and the Chief of the Village <br />Police or the Village Fire Marshal. <br />Section 3. Any person wishing to secure a permit for a public <br />display of fireworks shall make application therefor to the President of the <br />Village, in writing, giving his name, place of residence and age. Such <br />written application shall also state the place at which it is proposed to give <br />such public display of fireworks, what experience the applicant has had, if <br />any, in the discharge of fireworks, whether or not the applicatst is in full <br />possession of all the usual and normal mental and physical faculties, and <br />such application shall be sworn to by the applicant before a notary public <br />or other officer authorized by law to administer oaths. <br />
