WHEREAS, the 928 Airlift Group is comprised of hundreds of doctors, <br />nurses, and other medical personnel from the Chicago area who would be <br />difficult to replace if they did move with the unit and equally difficult <br />for the unit to replace if they did not retain the personnel; and <br />WHEREAS, the military have, over the years, been good neighbors; and <br />WHEREAS, the 928th provides a secure landing area for VIP's traveling <br />to Chicago; and <br />WHEREAS, the military fire station provides aid and assistance to <br />Chicago's O'Hare International Airport and is called out over 1,000 times <br />per year; and <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of <br />the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois: <br />Section 1: That the Village of Elk Grove Village, a political <br />subdivision of the State, does hereby request the United States Congressman <br />Henry J. Hyde, Congressman Philip M. Crane, Senator Carol Mosely-Braun <br />and Senator Paul Simon convey to the appropriate federal representative the <br />Village of Elk Grove Village's desire to have the military units remain in <br />place at the O'Hare facilities. <br />Section 2: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect <br />from and after its passage and approval according to law. <br />PASSED <br />this <br />9th <br />day <br />of <br />March <br />, 1993. <br />APPROVED <br />this <br />9th <br />day <br />of <br />March <br />, 1993. <br />Charles J.
