RESOLUTION NO. -i1-91 <br />A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 81-70, <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT RULES AND REGULATIONS OF <br />THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees <br />of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, State of <br />Illinois: <br />Section 1: That Article IV, Rules of Conduct, be and the same is <br />hereby amended to read as follows: <br />In addition to the positive requirements of the <br />foregoing sections, the following rules of conduct <br />set forth expressly prohibited acts and are applicable <br />to all police personnel regardless of rank or assign- <br />ment. The rules are intended to enhance the image of <br />of the Police Department and its personnel by setting <br />forth expressly prohibited acts, or violations which <br />erode public confidence and support. In addition, <br />employees shall not commit or become involved in any <br />conduct unbecoming of the employee. <br />Prohibited acts include: <br />Rule 1. Violation of any law or ordinance. <br />Rule 2. Any action or conduct which impedes the <br />Department's efforts to achieve its goals, <br />or brings discredit upon the Department. <br />Rule 3. Any failure to promote the Department's <br />efforts to accomplish its goals. <br />Rule 4. Any conduct or action taken to use the official <br />position for personal gain or influence. <br />Rule 5. Failure to perform a duty. <br />Rule 6. Disobedience of an order, written or oral. <br />Rule 7. Insubordination or disrespect toward a supervisory <br />member. <br />Rule 8. Disrespect to or willful maltreatment of any <br />person. <br />Pule 9. Inattention to duty. <br />Rule 10. Failure to remain awake on duty. <br />
