RESOLUTION NO. 15_87 <br />A RESOLUTION DIRECTED TO THE COOK COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, <br />COOK COUNTY BOARD OF APPEALS, AND THE COUNTY CLERK FOR TRANSMITTAL <br />TO COOK COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS PROTESTING THE REZONING OF <br />PROPERTY LOCATED APPROXIMATELY 50 FT. SOUTH OF THE CENTER LINE OF <br />BIESTERFIELD ROAD AND APPROXIMATELY 393 FT. EAST OF MARTHA ST. <br />WHEREAS, the Petitioner and Owner, John Riggs, of the property <br />legally described as follows: <br />Lot 8 in Itasca Meadows Farm a Subdivision <br />of part of Section 31, Township 41 North, <br />Range 11, East of the 3rd Principal Meridian <br />have petitioned for rezoning of same from R-4, Single Family Resident <br />District to C-4, General Commercial District and a Special Use in <br />C-4, General Commercial District with a unique use for heating and <br />air conditioning office sales with limited display area. <br />WHEREAS, said case has been docketed as Docket Number 4687 and <br />Docket Number 4688 by the Cook County Zoning Board of Appeals; and <br />WHEREAS, The Village of Elk Grove Village is contiguous to this <br />property on the east side. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of <br />Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and <br />DuPage, State of Illinois. <br />Section 1: That the Village of Elk Grove Village does hereby <br />register objection to the petitioner's request for the rezoning of <br />the subject property described above for the following reasons: <br />a. The Elk Grove Village Comprehensive Plan and Official <br />Map adopted on October 22, 1968 and duly filed with the <br />Cook County Clerk declares said land to be within our <br />future annexation plans and for it to be within the <br />corporate limits of Elk Grove Village, with a R-3 <br />Zoning Classification. The proposed commercial use in <br />inconsistent with the Official Map. <br />b. The C-4 Commercial District would permit automobile <br />service stations, billiard and pool halls, bowling <br />alleys, gymnasium, health clubs, and many other <br />intensive and high traffic uses that are normally on a <br />primary thoroughfare. <br />C. That the Cook County Comprehensive Lane Use and <br />Policies Plan (adopted in 1976 and with 1984 revisions) <br />shows this and the properties abutting it on the west <br />and south sides as Single Family Residential. <br />d. That the best and most suitable use of the property is <br />that of Single Family Residential Use; that the Village <br />therefore requests the denial of the application. <br />Section 2: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect <br />from and after its passage and approval according to law. <br />
