RESOLUTION NO. 72-82 <br /> A RESOLUTION DIRECTED TO THE COOK COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, <br /> COOK COUNTY ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS AND THE COUNTY CLERK, FOR <br /> TRANSMITTAL TO THE COOK COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS PROTESTING <br /> THE PETITION FOR A SPECIAL USE PERMIT TO PERMIT THE CONSTRUCTION <br /> OF TEMPLE FACILITIES ON THE NORTH SIDE OF DEVON AVENUE AND SOUTH <br /> OF THE VILLAGE LIMITS OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE <br /> WHEREAS, the Petitioner, Ved Gupta, and Owner, Hindu Society of <br /> Metropolitan Chicago, of the property legally described as follows: <br /> Lots 2, 3 b pt. of 4 in Wm. Lumpp's Devon Avenue Farms <br /> Subdivision in Section 33, T41N, Point of Beginning on <br /> the North line of Lot 4, 35.2 feet East of Northwest <br /> corner of Lot 4, thence Southerly 618.40 feet to new North <br /> line of Devon Avenue, thence Westerly 305. 14 feet, <br /> thence northerly along West line of Lot 2 to North <br /> line of Lot 2, thence East 378.2 feet to Point of <br /> Beginning East of 3rd Principal Meridian. <br /> have petitioned for a Special Use Permit to permit the construction of <br /> Temple facilities with caretaker' s quarters in a flood plain area; and <br /> WHEREAS, said case has been docketed as Docket Number 4018 by the Cook <br /> County Zoning Board of Appeals; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village is contiguous to this property <br /> on the East and North sides. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of <br /> the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, State of <br /> Illinois. <br /> Section 1 : That the Village of Elk Grove Village does hereby register <br /> objections to the petitioner' s request for the Special Use Permit described <br /> above for the following reasons: <br /> a. The Elk Grove Village Comprehensive Plan and Official Map adopted <br /> on October 22, 1968 and duly filed with the Cook County Clerk declares said <br /> land to be within our future annexation plans and for it to be within the <br /> corporate limits of Elk Grove Village. <br /> b. If developed as an unincorporated area, it would not be adequately <br /> served by essential urban services such as Police protection, Fire protection, <br /> Ambulance service, Sewer service and Water supply. <br /> C. If developed as an unincorporated area, it would be an island <br /> unto itself always seeking public services in time of crisis from the <br /> Village of Elk Grove Village without sharing in the continuing costs of <br /> maintaining such services. <br /> - 1 - <br />
