RESOLUTION NO. 25-63 <br />WHEREAS, the City of Chicago has requested the Department of Aeronautics of the <br />State of Illinois to adopt airport zoning regulations for Chicago -O'Hare <br />International Airport, and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Chicago prepared and submitted certain airport zoning regula- <br />tions which it proposed that the Department of Aeronautics adopte and <br />MEREAS, said proposed zoning regulations would seriously affect the use and <br />development of property within a ten (10) mile radius of Chicago-O'Fare <br />International Airport, which area encompasses the corporate boundaries <br />of the Village of Elk Grove Village, and <br />WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village is in favor of lawful and reasonable <br />regulations designed to promote the safety of the public in the use of <br />Chicago -O'Hare International Airport and the safety of persons residing <br />and working in proximity thereto; and <br />WHEREAS, in the opinion of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of <br />Elk Grove Village the proposed regulations in their present form impose <br />unreasonable restrictions on the use and development of property in the <br />area described therein. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESODIED by the President and Board of Trustees of the <br />Village of Elk Grove Village, Illinois, Counties of Cook and DuPage: <br />1. That the President and Board of Trustees for the reasons hereinabove <br />set forth, do hereby evidence disapproval of the aforesaid zoning <br />regulations proposed by the City of Chicago and object to the adoption <br />by the Department of Aeronautics of the State of Illinois of said <br />regulations in their present form. <br />2. That the Village of Elk Grove Village, which is a member of the <br />Suburban Municipal Council on O'Hare Field Zoning Regulations, <br />joins with said Council in the request that the Department of <br />Aeronautics consult with said Council in the formulation and <br />drafting of any zoning regulations for Chicago -O'Hare International <br />Airport or, that in the alternatives any action with respect to said <br />zoning regulations be deferred for a period of six (6) months to <br />enable the Council to make the necessary studies, and to present <br />findings and recommendations to the Department. <br />3. That certified copies of this Resolution be forwarded immediately <br />to the Director of the Department of Aeronautics of the State of <br />Illinois, and to the Honorable Otto Kerner, Governor of the State <br />of Illinois. <br />PASSED and APPROVED this 22nd day of August, 1963. <br />James R.
