CONSENT AGENDA <br /> A) Consideration to grant a variation from the Village Code, Section 8-12B-1-1D, <br /> "Easements", to permit the construction of a shed which will encroach five feet (5') <br /> into a ten-foot(10')public utility easement at 708 Utah Street. <br /> (The property owners are seeking a variation to construct a shed within a <br /> public utility easement. ComEd, Nicor Gas, SBC, and Comcast have written letters <br /> granting permission to encroach upon the easement. <br /> (The Engineering Department has field checked this location for conflicts with <br /> Village-owned utilities within the easement, found no Village-owned utilities in the <br /> easement, and have no indication that the Village will be utilizing this easement in <br /> the future. <br /> (A report from the Director of Engineering & Community Development, <br /> recommending approval, is attached.) <br /> B) Consideration to renew an existing service contract with Powell Tree Care, Inc. of <br /> Elk Grove Village, IL for high branch pruning, trimming and clean-up chipping for <br /> 3,000 parkway trees in an amount not to exceed$78,180. <br /> (This contract was originally bid and awarded to Powell Tree Care as a three- <br /> year contract through April 30, 2003, with an option to renew annually up to two <br /> additional one-year periods, with Fiscal Year 2004/2005 being the final year. <br /> (A provision was provided in the specifications to allow the contractor to <br /> increase the price by 3.0%. <br /> (With the increase, the cost per tree has increased to $26.06 per tree compared <br /> to $25.30 per tree last year. <br /> (Powell Tree Care has performed satisfactorily in providing this service. <br /> (Reports from the Director of Finance and Director of Public Works, <br /> recommending approval, are attached.) <br />
