Minutes <br /> • ELK GROVE VILLAGE PLAN COMMISSION <br /> Date: Wednesday, January 15, 1986 <br /> Location: Council Chamber <br /> Municipal Building <br /> 901 Wellington Avenue <br /> The meeting was called to order by Chairman Glass at 8:09 p.m. <br /> Members Present: Members Absent: <br /> John Glass, Chairman Leah Cummins <br /> George Mullen Orrin Stangeland <br /> Clark Fulton <br /> Fred Geinosky, Acting Secretary <br /> David Paliganoff <br /> Staff Present: <br /> Earle Kracht, Building Inspector Supervisor <br /> Robin Weaver, Administrative Assistant <br /> John Coakley, Administrative Intern <br /> Testimony was presented on behalf of the developer by the <br /> following: <br /> • Joseph Ash, Attorney <br /> Patrick Daly, Architech/Real Estate Developer <br /> Norman Toberman, Civil Engineer <br /> Edith Yu, Architech <br /> Bonnie Flock, Traffic Engineer, Barton-Aschman Associates, Inc. <br /> Don O'Hara, Traffic Engineer, Barton-Aschman Associates, Inc. <br /> Robert Brown, Real Estate Director for Jewel Food Stores <br /> Others: <br /> Approximately 40 unidentified persons in the audience. <br /> Swiatek Property - Rezonin <br /> Mr. Ash presented the preliminary site plan to the Plan Commission. <br /> The plan indicates that the 22.81 acre development will consist of a <br /> 62,000 square foot food/drug store, a 74,250 square foot home <br /> improvement center, and 48,240 square feet of smaller retail units. <br /> Additionally, four outlying buildings, 5,000 square feet each, will <br /> be constructed for use as banking facilities and/or restaurants. <br /> Patrick Daly stated that his architectural firm had previously <br /> developed over 400,000,000 square feet of commercial property or <br /> 220 shopping centers in 20 states. These figures include a 350,000 <br /> square foot shopping center in Palatine and a 225,000 square foot <br /> shopping center in Hickory Hills. <br /> Mr. Daly further noted that the properties surrounding the <br /> • parcel were zoned, as follows: single-family R-3 to the east, <br /> commercial B-2 and A-2 to the north, residential R-4 to the west, <br /> and commercial O-T and B-1 to the south. <br />
