MINUTES <br /> ELK GROVE VILLAGE PLAN COMMISSION <br /> November 28, 1979 <br /> The regular meeting of the Plan Commission was called to order by <br /> Chairman Kenna at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 28, 1979 in the <br /> Multi-Purpose Room of the Municipal Building, 901 Wellington Avenue. <br /> MEMBERS PRESENT: MEMBERS ABSENT: <br /> Edward W. Kenna, Chairman Leah'Cummins, Secretary <br /> John R. Glass Donna O. Farley <br /> George E. Mullen Frederick C. Geinosky <br /> Orrin J. Stangeland STAFF PRESENT: <br /> Stephen M. Feller, <br /> Administrative Assistant <br /> Docket 79-7: Hollanders Petition for Special Use <br /> Richard Hollander and Don Immekus were present to represent the <br /> petitioner. The petitioner was requesting a Special Use Permit to <br /> construct a Burger King Restaurant, as permitted under the Elk Grove <br /> Village Zoning Ordinance No. 842, Article 5, Zoning Districts, Section <br /> 5.85, Special Uses in all Industrial Districts, Paragraph B. The <br /> subject property is located approximately 178 feet south of the south- <br /> east corner of Pratt Boulevard and Busse Road. <br /> Glass repeated his concern expressed at the November 7, 1979 Public <br /> Hearing regarding the potential traffic problems that would be created <br /> as a result of the proximity of the proposed drive-thru lane to the <br /> Sambo's entrance on Busse Road. Immekus responded that he had conducted <br /> traffic studies of the area which indicated that the drive-thru would <br /> not create a traffic problem. <br /> Mullen pointed out that the property is zoned I-2; and that the <br /> alternative use would be an industrial facility which would present <br /> traffic problems as employees arrive to and leave from work. <br /> Mullen moved to recommend approval of the petition. Glass <br /> seconded the motion and all present voted 'AYE' . <br /> Landscaping and Sidewalk Plan for the Portion of <br /> Section 24 Which Abuts Meacham Road <br /> Joe Luciani, Director of Land Development for Centex Homes, was <br /> present to discuss a landscaping and sidewalk plan for Meacham Road in <br /> Section. 24. Luciani stated that he had discussed the Plan Commission's <br /> recommendations with a representative of the Cook County Highway <br /> Department. Luciani reported that the County would be reluctant to <br /> approve the installation of sidewalks along Meacham. Road through the <br /> flood plane area because of the entensive grading adjustments that <br /> would be necessary. <br /> Glass suggested that in lieu of the installation of sidewalks, <br /> Centex provide the Village with the funds required to install the <br /> . . . continued <br />
