Minutes <br /> Elk Grove Village Plan Commission <br /> November 1 , 1978 <br /> The regular meeting of the Plan Commission was called to order by Acting <br /> Chairman Hauser at 8: 15 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1 , 1978 in the Multi- <br /> Purpose Room of the Municipal Building, 901 Wellington Avenue. <br /> MEMBERS PRESENT: STAFF PRESENT: <br /> Edward Hauser, Acting Chairman Richard M. Finn, <br /> Leah Cummins , Secretary (8:30 p.m. ) Administrative Assistant <br /> John Glass C. Kenneth Schuster, <br /> George Mullen Acting Village Engineer <br /> James Petri <br /> Orrin Stangeland <br /> MEMBERS ABSENT: <br /> None <br /> Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control Ordinance <br /> Hauser began the discussion by explaining to the Commission members <br /> some of the background information concerning soil erosion and sedimentation <br /> control . Hauser noted that the Acting Village Engineer was in attendance <br /> and would discuss the soil erosion and sedimentation control issue. <br /> Hauser continued by asking the Acting Village Engineer if he believed <br /> that a soil erosion and sedimentation control ordinance would have a place <br /> in Elk Grove Village. Schuster responded by stating that in his opinion <br /> any developing community would benefit from a soil erosion and sedimentation <br /> control ordinance. Schuster continued by noting that he was in the process <br /> of gathering information from neighboring communities pertaining to their <br /> respective approaches to soil erosion. He noted that during his investigation <br /> he had met with a representative from the North Cook County Soil & Water <br /> Conservation District to discuss the soil erosion control issue. <br /> Hauser continued the discussion by referring to the Assistant Village <br /> Engineer's October 4th memo concerning his review of the Schaumburg Soil <br /> Erosion and Sedimentation Control Ordinance. Hauser noted that one of <br /> the comments that the Assistant Village Engineer mentioned concerned the <br /> actual definition of the land area that would be covered under a soil <br /> erosion and sedimentation control ordinance. Hauser asked Schuster to <br /> define the area of land thatshould be covered by the ordinance. Schuster - <br /> responded that he was not prepared to give an exact definition. However, <br /> he made mention that the definition contained in the Palatine Soil Erosion <br /> and Sedimentation Control Ordinance could serve as a model definition. <br /> At that point Schuster distributed copies of Soil Erosion and <br /> Sedimentation Control Ordinances that he had obtained from Schaumburg, <br /> Wheeling and Palatine. The Plan Commission briefly reviewed the three <br /> ordinances and there was a brief discussion concerning the various items <br /> contained in each ordinance. <br /> Stangeland noted that in his opinion the Commission should concern <br /> itself with the larger developers. Mullen acknowledged Stangeland's <br /> statement; however, he questioned if Elk Grove Village had a large enough <br />
