Minutes <br /> ELK GROVE VILLAGE PLAN COMMISSION <br /> August 1 , 1974 <br /> The public hearing of the Elk Grove Village Plan Commission <br /> was called to order by Acting Chairman Mark Grice at 8: 17 P.M. on <br /> Thursday, August 1 , 1974 in the Council Chamber of the Municipal <br /> Building. Leah Cummins , Secretary, swore in the testifiers. <br /> MEMBERS PRESENT: Mark Grice Joseph Cimino <br /> Leah Cummins William Wesley <br /> Edward Hauser Richard McGrenera <br /> Al Krasnow (present at 8:28 P.M.) <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Edward Hofert , Village Attorney <br /> Al Walla, Bureau Supervisor, Div. of Bldg. & Zoning <br /> Robert Franz, Assistant Village Manager <br /> Janet Lewis , Administrative Intern <br /> Public Hearing - Maioriello Petition for R-3 Special Use <br /> The petition of Anthony J. Maioriello and Theresa Maioriello <br /> for a special Use permit for a funeral home at 1199 Arlington Heights <br /> Road in R-3 zoning was presented. Joseph Marchetti , Attorney for the <br /> petitioner, made a presentation explaining the proposed use of this <br /> land. He presented a pictoral review, appraisal , a site plan and <br /> preliminary building plan, and a study of area funeral homes . A real <br /> estate broker, wife of a funeral director, and a funeral director <br /> spoke in favor of the proposed funeral home. <br /> Robert Stucker, Attorney representing the homeowners opposed <br /> to the funeral home (Mr. and Mrs . Norman Denbroeder and Mr. and Mrs . Lee <br /> Cantrell ) , requested thirty days to study the proposal and submit a brief <br /> of law and testimony. He agreed to twenty days for the submittal of his <br /> brief with ten days for the opposition to .reply to the brief. The vote <br /> was five to two in favor of the motion (opposed were Cimino and Wesley) . <br /> It was agreed that the opposition brief will be submitted to <br /> the Plan Commission by 5:00 P.M. August 19, 1974. If the petitioners for <br /> the special use permit wish to present a reply to the brief or request <br /> a hearing for cross-examination, they must respond by August 26. A <br /> meeting will be held to discuss the petition on August 29, 1974 at 8 P.M. <br /> Norman Denbroeder spoke in opposition to the proposed special <br /> use. He cited other land available and the.need to use and follow the <br /> Comprehensive Plan previously adopted by the Village. <br /> The Plan Commission asked several questions of the petitioner <br /> dnd then allo:,jed several residents in the audience to be heard on the <br /> matter. <br /> At 10:38 P.M. the hearing was recessed until August 29, 1974. <br />
