ELK.GROVE FIREMEN'S PENSION FUND
4 6 AUGUST 1984
A meeting of the Firemen's Pension Fund was held on Monday, August 6,
1984 in the basement of the Headquarters Fire Station, 101 Biesterfield
Road. The meeting was called to order by President Walter J. Kriesant at
7:10 P.M. s
ROLL CALL
On Roll Call the following members were present: Walter J. Kriesant,
George C. Coney, Charles B. Henrici,. Douglas C. Goostree, sHarvey R.
Speiden, and Joseph Gardner III. Also in attendance was a Mr. Thomas
McCarthy from Dean Witter, Reynolds, Inc.
MINUTES
Motion by W. Kriesant, seconded by G. Coney to ,accept 15 May 1984
Minutes as written and dispence with their reading. Motion passed
unanimously.
TREASURER'S REPORT
Treasurer G. Coney submitted Balance Sheet and Schedule of Investments
of the Pension Fund as of 6 AUG. 1984. The Treasurer reminded the
Pension.Board members over $265,000.00 in a,Treasury Note and a

Treasury Bond was coming up for maturity 15 AUG. 1984. He also reported
( he had been contacted by over a dozen Investment firms offering their
assistance in investing the Pension Funds monies. Motion by D.Goostree,
seconded by J. Gardner III to accept the Treasurer's Report and place
the Balance Sheet and Schedule of Investments on file with Pension
Board Minutes. Motion passed unanimously.-
APPLICATION FOR WITHDRAWAL
Motion by C. Henrici, seconded by H. Spieden to approve- refund due Glen
Bauer $15,409.58 on withdrawal from the Pension Fund. Motion passed
unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS
Secretary reported he had received notification from the Ill. Dept. of
Insurance of their Codification of the Pension Rules.
Mr. Thomas McCarthy was introduced by President W. Kriesant. Mr. McCarthy
gave a presentation to the Board members of what he felt we should.be
doing with the Pension Funds monies. He asked that he be contacted in
the future and be given an opportunity to bid on our future investments.
Treasurer G. Coney promised he would contact Mr. McCarthy to get a bid
list for future investments at the appropriate time
ADJOURNMENT
Motion by H. Speiden, seconded by D.Goostree to adjourn. Motion passed
unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 7:48 P.M.
