HELD ON JANUARY 22, 2020
Executive Session
Police Individual Oral Interviews. - The commission interviewed 3 candidates for entry level
police.
Approval of Minutes
Review of Minutes from December 18, 2019. — The minutes were approved.
Invoices for Approval
Invoice from John Kelly regarding legal service dated 12/31 /2019 in the amount of $2,000.
Invoice from Conrad Polygraph regarding polygraph tests dated 01/01/2020 in the amount of
$640.
All invoices were approved.
Correspondence
Correspondence from Chief Walsh regarding a 1 day suspension of a police officer.
Old Business
1. Police Openings — The Police Department has a total of 9 openings as of Jan 22, 2020.
There are more planned retirements to come in 2020.
2. Background Reviews - The commission approved several backgrounds to be reviewed at
the next meeting for Police Entry. Interviews will be held in executive session.
3. Fire Promotions — The commission discussed the feedback given in the January 8tn and
9t" Individual Oral Interviews. The Assessment Center for the promotional process will
take place on January 281" and 29th
4. Psychological Testing Services — The commission reviewed an informational brochure
from Stanard and Associates Psychological Testing Services. By a majority vote, the
commission agreed to send a candidate or two (2) our for testing. After receiving results
and assessing the reports received from Stanard, the commission may fully adopt Stanard
as the preferred testing vendor in the future.
New Business
1 Year probationary Review — The Police Officer had positive reviews and feedback
from the Police Department. The commission approved the officer's continuation
through FTO. The Officer will have a final review after 18 months of employment.
2 Final Firefighter Reviews — Both firefighters had positive reviews from the Fire
Department. The commission voted to lift the firefighter's probationary periods.
Police Written Exam — The Police Written Exam will be scheduled for March 21', 2020
at Elk Grove High school. Individual Oral interviews will be scheduled for April 2020.
Eligibility List
Firefighter Eligibility List will expire on 09/19/2021.
Fire Lieutenant Eligibility list scheduled to expire on 02/27/2020.
Police Officer Eligibility list Expires 01/19/2021.
Police Sergeant Eligibility list scheduled to expire on 07/08/2021.
