OF THE BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS
OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
HELD ON JUNE 16, 2020
Executive Session
The Commission held Executive Session to discuss personnel related matters.
Approval of Minutes
Review of Minutes from February 10, 2020. — The Commission approved the minutes from
February 10, 2020.

Old Business
1. Police Test — The Commission reviewed a presentation from Stanard and Associates
regarding offering an online exam. After review, the commission voted unanimously to
have an in person exam on July 25. Participants will be separated into 2 groups a
morning and afternoon group to divide the exam participants into smaller groups. The
exam will take place at Elk Grove High School.
2. Background Reviews — The commission approved to begin background reviews for the
Fire Department. The Fire Department will be looking to fill multiple positions in
August.
New Business
1. Sergeants Exam — The Police Department has one name remaining on the list. The
Commission will open competitive examinations on July 6 for Sergeants Promotions.
2. Police Academy pening — The Police Department is still waiting on SLEA to send
correspondence on an opening date for the Academy.
3. Dr. Friedman Data Review - Dr. Friedman wishes to share data regarding Matrix's ability
to test for use of force and other essential categories. We will look to have this
discussion the first week of August.
4. Annual Communication - the commission decided that it will produce an annual
communication of some kind for PD and Fire. Communication will include the
commission's activity throughout the year, updates, and a reminder of the age
limitation. This publication will likely be produced sometime prior to the holidays.
5. Meeting Time - The new meeting time will be every third Tuesday at 2:00. The next
meeting will be July 2 1 " at 2:OOpm.
Eligibility List
Firefighter Eligibility List will expire on 09/19/2021.
Fire Lieutenant Eligibility list scheduled to expire on 03/9/2022
Police Officer Eligibility list Exhausted.
Police Sergeant Eligibility list scheduled to expire on 07/08/2021.
