Number of pages attached: 1 Date(s) of review for release: October 2019 Date of approval for release: Date approved by Village Board: April 9, 2019 March 12, 2019 5:26 p.m. The home at 113 Kenilworth is being used as a storage unit for an elderly couple. They go to the property during the day, but stay with family overnight. The natural gas supply has been cut off from Nicor for some time, which has resulted in freezing pipes. The pipes have broken and are leaking significant amounts of water, resulting in very high and expensive water usage, up to a $5,000 water bill. There are additional maintenance issues such as holes in the soffit that allow squirrels/raccoons to live in the attic, and a possible mouse and flea infestation. The Village Housing Fund, administered by the Interfaith Council, will fund a repair by a local plumbing company to fix the issue, however it will recur again next winter without heat. The Village is looking to permanently shut off the water and file a lien over the unpaid water bill. The meeting was adjourned at 5:31 p.m. MR
