Pursuant to a duly made and approved motion and a majority vote at a regularly scheduled meeting
of the Village President and Board of Trustees on June 18, 2019, this Executive Session was called
to consider review of Personnel.

15 years ago, at the request of Village Manager Gary Parrin, retirees got the opportunity to
participate in a life insurance program through the Village. The insurance company failed to
update the rate for a number of years, and just recently realized their mistake and hiked their
rates up significantly. Staff recommends to no longer allow new retirees into the program, as the
new rates are no better than what is offered in the marketplace. The consensus of the Board was
to not allow any new retirees into the program, but to allow any existing retirees who want to
continue in the program with the new rates to do so.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:19 p.m.
