HomeMy WebLinkAboutFIRE PENSION - 02/03/1986 - Fire Pension MINUTES OF BOARD MEETING ELK GROVE FIRE!UN'S PENSION FUND 3 FEBRUARY 1986 A meeting of the Firemen's Pension Fund was held on Monday, February 3, 1986 in the basement of the Headquarters Fire Station, 101 Biesterfield Road. Thee meetinq was called to order by Walter J. Kriesant at 7:00 P.M. ROLL CALL On Roll Call the following members were present: Walter J. Kriesant, George C. Coney, Charles B. Henrici, Douglas C. Goostree, Harvey R. Speiden, and Joseph Gardner III. MINUTES Motion by C. Henrici, seconded by D. Goostree to accept the 12 August 1985 Minutes and the 28 October 1985 Special Meeting Plinutes as written and dispense with their reading. *Motion passed unanimously. TREASURER'S REPORT Treasurer G. Coney submitted a Balance Sheet and Schedule of Investments of the Pension Fund as of 31 January 1986. He informed the Board that P. Cliffords widows benefits had been reduced December, 1985 to $518.40 from $673.92 because of the last child reaching age 18. Motion by H. Speiden, seconded by C.Henrici to accept the Treasurer's Report and place the Balance Sheet and Schedule of In- vestments on file with the Pension Board Minutes. Motion passed unanimously. NEW BUSINESS Secretary reported he had received some hand written notes from the Fxamner from the Ill. Dept. of Insurance. These notes covered the "on site" examination. Some deficiencies were indicated but the Secretary informed the Board members that he couldn't understand why men who were still married needed divorce decrees and men. who were not married needed marriage certificates. C.Henrici informed the Board that 4 new men would be hired soon. Three of those medicals were accepted but the fourth needed clarification. C.Henrici volunteered to contact Dr.Collins for clarification. Motion by D.Goostree, seconded by H.Speiden if no definitive answer from Dr.Collins to seek another Doctors opinion. Motion passed unanimously. Secretary was directed to send a letter to the Police and Fire Commission that we had received the medical reports of the new mien and based on preliminary examination it appears they are acceptable for coverage under the Firemen's Pension Fund. Secretary reported D.McCulla had completed 2 examinations of Doctors reccnrended by Dr.B.Moore. The one exam remaining is to be completed this week. Treasurer reported the Pension Fund had received 2 bills one from Dr. M.S.Gross for $75.00 and Dr.W.V.Galassi $60.00. Motion by H.Speiden, seconded by ` D.Goostree to approve and pay those bills. Motion passed unanimously. Secretary was directed to make up Entrance Packages for the new men. C.Henrici stated he would see to it the new men received them. ADJOUME NT Motion by H.Speiden, seconded by D.Goostree to adjourn. Motion passed unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 7:53 P.M.
