RESOLUTION NO. 26-05
A RESOLUTION EXCLUDING THE POPULATION OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE FROM THAT OF THE COUNTY OF DUPAGE AND INCLUDING THE POPULATION TO THE COUNTY OF COOK WITH RESPECT TO THE URBAN
COUNTY CDBG PROGRAM OF THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT
WHEREAS, the Congress of the United States has passed into law the Housing and Community Development Act; and
WHEREAS, the Housing and Community Development Act provides that a municipality may choose to have its population included in and credited to a specific urban county for use in the
formula for determining the amount of HUD funds available for use by said County and excluded from a separate urban county; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village desires to withhold its population of 34,727 from that to be credited to the County of DuPage; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village desires to include its population of 34,727 in that to be credited to the County of Cook.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That the Village of Elk Grove Village desires not to join the County of DuPage in participating in housing and community development activities under the Housing and Community
Development Act of 1974, and thus excludes its population from calculations of funds available to DuPage County under the provisions of said Act.
Section 2: That the Village of Elk Grove Village desires to includes its population of 34,727 to the County of Cook.
Section 3: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval according to law.
