ORDINANCE NO. 3038
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 8-3B-1 OF THE VILLAGE CODE PERTAINING TO ONE AND TWO FAMILY DWELLING CODE BY ADOPTING REGULATIONS PERTAINING TO THE CONSTRUCTION OF ENCLOSED OFF-STREET
PARKING AREAS (GARAGES)
WHEREAS, the Committee of the Whole of the Village of Elk Grove Village reviewed the issue of providing enclosed off-street parking spaces for new and reconstructed single family dwellings;
and,
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, after having considered the findings of the Committee of the Whole, find and believe it to be in the best
interest of the Village that required off-street parking spaces be provided for new and reconstructed single-family dwellings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That Section 8-3B-1 be and the same is hereby amended by adding the following:
4. Chapter 3 – Garages. Section 309 is amended by adding the following:
Section 309.4 General. Off-street parking spaces required by the Zoning regulations shall be provided in a completely enclosed building for the following construction:
1. All new single family dwellings.
All reconstructed single family dwellings where over fifty percent (50%) of the structure above the foundation is razed.
Section 2: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval according to law.
