AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 5. CHAPTER 5, SECTION 5-5-1, FIRE AND
AMBULANCE SERVICE OUTSIDE VILLAGE, OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF THE
VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE, BY PROVIDING AN INCREASE IN THE
RATES FOR CONTRACTED SERVICES AND NON -CONTRACT PER CALL
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, State
of Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That Chapter 5, Section 5-5-1B-1, Noncontract, Per -Call
Rate, of the Village Code of the Village of Elk Grove Village, as it pertains to rates
charged to those individuals who have not previously contracted for fire and
ambulance services, be amended to read as follows:
Non -contract, Per -Call Rate: The following rates shall be charged to
those individuals who have not previously contracted for fire and
ambulance service:
Ambulance - $250.00 per call
Vehicles containing fire -fighting apparatus, exclusive of automobiles
- $500.00 per vehicle per call.
2. Following the expiration of 2003-04 contract, the contract rates will
increase annually by the Chicago Area Consumer Price Index as
published by the U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor
Statistics from the business period between January of the previous
year and January of the contract year. The rate increases shall be
no less than 3.0% and no more than 5.0%.
Section 2: That Chapter 5, Section 5-54B, Subsection 2a, Rates for
Contracted Service, of the Village Code of the Village of Elk Grove Village, be
amended to read as follows:
a) Home Owner Associations and Fire Protection District Areas: The
rate for fire and ambulance service for homeowners associations
and fire district areas shall be one -hundred and fifty dollars
($150.00) per year per home.
b) Individual Homeowners: The rate for individual homeowners for fire
and ambulance service shall be one -hundred and fifty dollars
($150.00) per year per home.
c) Commercial and Industrial Structures: The rate for fire and
ambulance service for commercial or industrial structures shall be
one -hundred and seventy-five dollars, ($175.00), per major or
principal structure as determined by the Fire Chief.
d) Following the expiration of 2003-04 contract, the contract rates will

published by the U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor
Statistics from the business period between January of the previous
year and January of the contract year. The rate increases shall be

Section 3: That the remaining Sections of Title 5, Chapter 5, pertaining
to Fire and Ambulance Service Outside the Village Limit, shall be in full force and
effect.
Section 4: That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized to publish this
Ordinance in pamphlet form.
Section 5: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from after
its passage, approval, and publication according to law.
