AN ORDINANCE AMENDING 3-5:B OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE
REGARDING SPECIAL USES TO ADD CHURCHES AND RELIGIOUS
INSTITUTIONS AS A PERMITTED SPECIAL USE IN ALL DISTRICTS
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Elk Grove Village, at a
Public Hearing duly called and held according to law, considered the question of
amending Section 3-5:B of the Zoning Ordinance to permit churches and
religious institutions as a Special Use which would be permitted in all zoning
districts; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove
Village, after having considered the recommendation and finding of said Plan
Commission, find and believe that it is in the best interest of the Village that the
Text Amendment, as recommended by the Plan Commission, be adopted.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage,
Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That Section 3-5:B, Special Uses Permitted in all Districts be
amended by adding thereto the following.
"Churches and Religious Institutions"
Section 2: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and approval according to law.
VOTE: AYES: 6 NAYS: 0 ABSENT: 0
PASSED this 28th day of October 2003.
