AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A VARIATION OF SECTIONS 3-6:D.1 AND 7-1 OF
THE ZONING ORDINANCE TO PERMIT THE CONSTRUCTION OF A COVERED
PORCH WHICH WILL ENCROACH APPROXIMATELY 7.72 FEET INTO THE
REQUIRED FRONT YARD SETBACK ON PROPERTY LOCATED AT 603 OAKTON
STREET, ELK GROVE VILLAGE (FIRESTONE)
WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals, at a public hearing
duly called and held according to law, considered the question of
granting a variation of Section 3-6:D.1 and 7-1 of the Zoning
Ordinance pertaining to principle structures in the twenty-five
(25) foot required front yard to permit a covered porch which
would encroach approximately 7.72 feet into the required setback
on property located at 603 Oakton Street and legally described
hereinafter; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Elk Grove Village, after having reviewed the finding and
recommendation of said Zoning Board of Appeals, find and believe
that sufficient hardship exists so as to justify the granting of
said variation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook
and DuPage, Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That there be granted a variation of Sections
3-6:D.1 and 7-1 of the Zoning Ordinance to permit the
construction of a covered porch which will encroach approximately
7.72 feet into the required twenty-five foot front yard setback
on property located at 603 Oakton Street, Elk Grove Village and
legally described as follows:

Lot 371 in Elk Grove Village Section 1 South, being a
Subdivision in the North half of Section 28, Township
41 North, Range 11, East of the Third Principal
Meridian, according to the Plat thereof recorded on
April 24, 1957 as Document No. 1734744, in Cook
County, Illinois.
Section 2: That this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval according to law.
VOTE: AYES: 6 NAYS: 0 ABSENT: 0
PASSED this 13th day of November, 2001.
