AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A VARIATION OF THE BULK AND YARD
REQUIREMENTS REGULATIONS OF SECTION 7-1 OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE
TO PERMIT THE CONSTRUCTION OF A GABLE ROOF STRUCTURE, SPIRE AND
CROSS WITH A HEIGHT OF APPROXIMATELY FIFTY-TWO (52) FEET ABOVE
GRADE ON PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1045 SOUTH ARLINGTON HEIGHTS ROAD,
ELK GROVE VILLAGE (CHRISTUS VICTOR LUTHERAN CHURCH)
WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals of the Village of Elk
Grove Village at a public hearing duly called and held according
to law considered the question of granting a variation of Section
7-1 of the Zoning Ordinance pertaining to allowable heights for
structures in an R-3 Residential Zoned District to permit the
construction of a gable roof, spire and cross which would be
approximately fifty-two (52) feet above grade on property located
at 1045 Arlington Heights Road, Elk Grove Village and legally
described hereinafter; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Elk Grove Village, after having considered the recommendation and
finding of said Zoning Board of Appeals, find and believe that
sufficient hardship exists so as to justify the granting of said
variation.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook
and DuPage Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That there be granted a variation of Section 7-
1 of the Zoning Ordinance as it pertains to allowable heights for
structures in an R-3 Residential Zoned District, to permit the
construction of an addition which would have a gable roof, spire
and cross which would exceed the thirty-five (35) foot heights

requirement by seventeen (17) feet for the Christus Victor
Lutheran Church located at 1045 S. Arlington Heights Road, Elk
Grove Village, Illinois and legally described as follows:
Lot 3448 in Elk Grove Village Section 11, being a
Subdivision in Section 32 and 33, Township 41 North
Range 11, East of the Third principal Meridian,
according to the Plat thereof recorded in the Office
of the Recorder of Deeds on August 24, 1962 as
Document No. 18572095 in Cook County, Illinois
Section 2: That this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval according to law.
