AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A SPECIAL USE PERMIT TO NEXTEL
COMMUNICATIONS FOR THE INSTALLATION OF UP TO NINE (9)
FORTY-EIGHT INCH (48") LONG ANTENNAS ON AN EXISTING CHIMNEY
SCREENED BY THE CONSTRUCTION OF A CUPOLA ON PROPERTY
LOCATED AT 570 EAST HIGGINS ROAD, ELK GROVE VILLAGE
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Elk Grove
Village, at a Public Hearing duly called and held according to
law, considered the question of granting a special use permit to
Nextel Communications to install an antenna array on top of an
existing building at 570 East Higgins Road, Elk Grove Village;
and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Elk Grove Village after having reviewed the recommendation and
finding of said Plan Commission, find and believe that it is in
the best interest of the Village to grant such special use permit
subject to artistic conditions and other conditions as
recommended.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook
and DuPage Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That there be granted a special use permit to
Nextel Communications to permit the construction and installation
of a 9 -panel antenna array at the height of 45 feet on an
existing chimney of a building located at 570 East Higgins Road,
Elk Grove Village and legally described as follows:
Lot 22 (Except the Southerly 17 feet thereof, as
Condemned in Case No. 701,7062) in Higgins Road
Commercial Subdivision Unit No. 16, Being a Re -
Subdivision in Section 21, Township 41 North,
Range 11, East of the Third Principal Meridian
in Cook County, Illinois, according to the Plat
thereof, Registered in the Office of the Registrar
of Titles of Cook County, Illinois, on April 28, 1967
as Doc. No. 2321821
Section 2: That the antenna will be screened by a cupola
structure on the chimney which will be built in accordance with
the designs submitted to the Plan Commission, said design being
prepared by Steven R. Witt and Associates, Inc.
Section 3: That the special use permit shall remain in
effect while the antenna installation continues to exist or upon
the termination of the lease between the property owner and
Nextel Communications, whichever first occurs.
Section 4: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval according to law.
