AN ORDINANCE UPDATING AND AMENDING VARIOUS PROVISIONS OF THE
TRAFFIC CONTROL PROVISIONS OF TITLE 6 OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF THE
VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
WHEREAS, there are certain provisions in the Village Code
pertaining to traffic signage which do not accurately reflect the
actual signage on several of the Village streets; and
WHEREAS, it has further come to the attention of the Police
Department that parking on the north side of Greenleaf Avenue
immediately east of Busse Road is creating a line of sight
problem for vehicles exiting the Village Marathon in addition to
blocking the curb lane.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Board
of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook
and DuPage Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That Section 6-4-3-1: ONE AND TWO-WAY STOP
INTERSECTIONS, of the Village Code be in the same is hereby
amended by adding Estes Avenue in Column A and Touhy Avenue in
Column B which thus requires the traffic travelling on Estes to
stop at Touhy and by further adding White Trail in Column A and
Biesterfield Road in Column B so that the traffic travelling on
White Trail shall be required to stop at the intersection of
Biesterfield Road.
Section 2: That Section 6-4-3-2: THREE AND FOUR-WAY
STOP INTERSECTIONS, of the Village Code be amended by removing
from Section C the intersection of Biesterfield Road and Rohlwing
Road and by further removing the intersection of White Trail and
Biesterfield Road.
Section 3: That Section 6-4-1B(4) which prohibits
left-hand turns from southbound Plum Grove Road onto Julie Drive
and from Plum Grove Road onto University Lane and Section 6-4-1D
pertaining to turns from Plum Grove Road onto Julie Drive and to
University Lane be and the same are hereby repealed.
Section 4: That Section 6-4-5-1C Prohibited Parking be
amended by adding thereto the following:
On the north side of Greenleaf Avenue from the
intersection with Busse Road to 175 feet east
of Busse Road.
Section 5: The Village Clerk is hereby authorized to
publish this Ordinance in pamphlet form.
Section 6: That this Ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from land after its passage, approval and publication
according to law.
