AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A SPECIAL USE PERMIT TO SPRINT COM TO
PERMIT THE INSTALLATION OF A 125 FOOT MONOPOLE AND ELECTRONIC
EQUIPMENT SHELTER ON VILLAGE PROPERTY LOCATED AT THE NORTHWEST
CORNER OF THE MEACHAM FIRE STATION, 676 MEACHAM ROAD, ELK GROVE
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Elk Grove
Village, at a public hearing duly called and held according to
law, considered the question of granting a special use permit to
Sprint COM for the installation of a 125 foot monopole and the
installation of an equipment shelter adjacent thereto on property
located at 676 Meacham Road, Elk Grove Village and legally
described hereinafter; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Elk Grove Village, after having reviewed the recommendation and
finding of said Plan Commission, find and believe it is in the
best interest of the Village to grant such special use permit.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook
and DuPage, Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That there be granted a special use permit to
Sprint COM to permit the construction and installation of a 120
foot monopole and an electronic equipment shelter on property
located at the northwest corner of the Meacham fire station, 676
Meacham Road, Elk Grove Village and legally described as follows:
The South 300.00 feet of the North 670.00 feet of
the East 350.40 feet (as measured at right angles
to the North and East lines thereof) of the West half
of the Northwest Quarter of Section 36, Township 41
North, Range 10, East of the third Principal Meridian,
In Cook County, Illinois
Section 2: That the special use permit is subject to the
following conditions:
a. That the monopole be oversized in order to
accommodate other telecommunication companies
due to the policy of co -locating such facilities
in the Village of Elk Grove Village.
b. That a solid red light be installed on top of
the monopole due to air traffic concerns.
C. That screening be installed along the southwestern
section of the fire station property as approved
by the Village.
d. That the electronic shelter adjacent to the
monopole be constructed out of masonry material
matching the brick of the fire station building.
Section 3: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval according to law.
