AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 1, CHAPTER 5, SECTION 1-5-2 AND TITLE
1, CHAPTER 6, SECTION 1-6-2 OF THE VILLAGE CODE PERTAINING TO
SALARIES FOR THE VILLAGE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the President and Board
of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook
and DuPage, Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That Section 1-5-2, Bond; Oath; Salary: of the
Village Code be and the same is hereby amended to read as
follows:
1-5-2: Bond; Oath; Salary: Before entering upon the
duties of his Office, the President shall give a bond with
sureties to be approved by the Board of Trustees
conditioned upon his faithful performance of duties, in
the sum of Three Thousand ($3,000.00) Dollars. He shall
take the oath of office as prescribed by statute and shall
receive Twelve Thousand ($12,000.00) Dollars per year,
with additional compensation for his performance of duties
as Liquor Commissioner of Six Hundred ($600.00) Dollars
per year, payable in twelve (12) equal monthly
installments, said rate of compensation to apply to the
term of office commencing on or after May 1, 2001.
Section 2: That Section 1-6-2, Oath and Salary of the
Village Code pertaining to the office of Trustee be and the same
is hereby amended to read as follows:
1-6-2: Oath and Salary: Members of the Board of Trustees
shall take the oath of office as prescribed by statute and
shall receive as compensation the sum of Four Thousand Two
Hundred ($4200.00) Dollars per year, payable in twelve
(12) equal monthly installments, said rate of compensation
to apply to all terms of office which commence on or after
May 1, 2001.
Section 3: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval according to law.
