AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A VARIATION OF SECTION 3-6:D.2 PERTAINING
TO ACCESSORY STRUCTURES IN SIDE YARDS TO PERMIT THE CONSTRUCTION
OF A DETACHED GARAGE WHICH WOULD BE LOCATED APPROXIMATELY 4 FEET
FROM THE SIDE LOT LINE ON PROPERTY LOCATED AT 549 OAK STREET, ELK
GROVE VILLAGE (JONAS)
WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals, at a Public Hearing
duly called and held according to law, considered the question of
granting a variation of Section 3-6:D.2 of the Zoning Ordinance
to permit the construction of a detached garage which would be
located 4 feet from the side lot line on property located at 549
Oak Street, Elk Grove Village, Illinois and legally described
hereinafter; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees, after having
reviewed the recommendation and finding of the Zoning Board of
Appeals, which finding required the petitioner to amend his
request from 3 feet to 4 feet with respect to the structure's
location from the side lot line, find and believe that sufficient
hardship exists so as to justify the granting of said variation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook
and DuPage, Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That there be granted a variation of Section 3-
6:D.2, which Section prohibits detached accessory structures from
being located closer than 6 feet from the side lot line, in order
to permit the construction of a detached garage which would be
located approximately 4 feet from the side lot -line on property
located at 549 Oak Street, Elk Grove Village, Illinois and
legally described as follows:
Lot 980 in Elk Grove Village Section 2, Being a Subdivision
In the west half of Section 28, Township 41 North, Range
11, East of the Third Principal Meridian, According to the
plat thereof registered in the Office of the Registrar of
Titles of Cook County, Illinois, on May 1, 1958, as
Document No. 1793822.
Section 2: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval according to law.
