Petri Public Works Facility January 29, 2021 10:00 AM Present: Trustee Czarnik, Chairperson Trustee Franke Trustee Schmidt Staff: Matt Roan, Deputy Village Manager Christine Tromp, Director of Finance Colby Basham, Director of Public Works Brian Lovering, P.E., Chief Engineer Austin Pollack, Senior Management Analyst Chairperson Czarnik called the meeting to order at 10:02 AM. The Committee reviewed the proposed 2021 Street Maintenance Program, which includes the resurfacing of 8.0 miles of streets and the rehabilitation of curb, sidewalk and ADA compliant curb ramps. The proposed 2021 MFT program (3.9 miles) has an estimated construction cost of $1,414,885. The Village has also reserved $85,000 of MFT funds for asphalt material purchase for in-house roadway patching operations at various locations throughout the Village. The proposed 2021 Business Park program (2.9 Miles), which has an estimated construction cost of $1,531,349 will be funded utilizing funds from the Business Leaders Forum and the Busse/ Elmhurst TIF accounts. In addition to the 2021 MFT program, Arlington Heights Road from Newport Avenue to Brantwood Avenue is proposed to be rehabilitated with a letting later this fall. This project will provide vital infrastructure improvements to a 1.4 mile stretch of roadway from Newport Avenue to Brantwood Avenue as well as provide a new bi-directional turn lane. This new lane will create safer traffic turning movements throughout the corridor. In addition, the project will include pavement rehabilitation and curb removal and replacement, replacement and widening of the existing sidewalk from 4-feet to 6-feet on both sides of Arlington Heights Road, ADA ramp and pedestrian signal improvements, median landscape and retaining wall enhancements. Cook County is providing $4.4 million in funding, which will cover approximately 80% of the total project cost. The proposed Arlington Heights Road Rehabilitation project will be completed utilizing funds from Capital Project Fund. Staff is also proposing the continuation of the pavement rejuvenation program in the amount of $230,000 which will include all 9.8 miles of streets resurfaced in 2020. This program will be utilizing funds from the General Fund and Business Leader Forum accounts. The Committee approved the proposed 2021 Street Maintenance Program, as presented by Staff.
