AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 -7A -6C DISPATCHER AFFILIATION
OF THE VILLAGE CODE BY PERMITTING BUSSES AND TROLLEYS TO BE
ELIGIBLE FOR A LIVERY LICENSE WITHOUT THE NEED FOR A
CONTRACTUAL ARRANGEMENT WITH A LICENSED DISPATCHER
WHEREAS, livery vehicles in the Village which at present consist
of taxicabs and limousines are required to have a contractual or other
binding arrangement or contract with an Elk Grove Village licensed
dispatcher in order to receive a Village taxicab or livery license;
and
WHEREAS, to require such a contractual arrangement for companies
operating busses or trolleys for hire is unnecessary in light of the
differences that exist between the two methods of public
transportation;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of
Trustees �of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and
DuPage, Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That Section 3 -7A -6C Dispatcher Affiliation of Village
Code be in the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
C. Dispatcher Affiliation: No license shall be issued
to any livery without a contractual or other binding
arrangement or contract with an Elk Grove Village
licensed dispatcher. The agreement must identify the
livery as one under the control and operation of the
licensed dispatcher and acknowledge the joint and
several obligations imposed on the livery owner and
the licensed dispatcher as set forth in this article.
This provision shall not apply to busses and trolleys
which are eligible for a livery license without the
need of dispatching services.
Section 2: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval according to law.
