AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A SPECIAL USE PERMIT TO PERMIT THE
CONSTRUCTION OF A MOTEL FACILITY IN AN I-1 INDUSTRIAL ZONED
DISTRICT AT THE INTERSECTION OF HIGGINS ROAD AND COMMERCE
DRIVE (COMMERCE DRIVE PARTNERSHIP)
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Elk Grove Village,
at a Public Hearing, duly called and held according to law, considered
the question of granting a Special Use Permit in accordance with Section
7E -2:A of the Zoning Ordinance to permit the construction and operation
of a three (3) story forty-seven (47)room motel facility on property
located in the I-1 Industrial Zoned District at the intersection of
Higgins Road and Commerce Drive and legally described hereinafter; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees, after reviewing the
recommendation and finding of said Plan Commission, find and believe
that it is in the best interest of the Village to grant the Special Use
Permit as requested;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and
DuPage, Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That there be granted a Special Use Permit to Commerce
Drive Partnership to permit the construction and operation of a three
(3) story forty-seven (47) room Microtel Inn and Suites motel facility
on property located in the I-1 Industrial Zoned District at the
intersection of Higgins Road and Commerce Drive and legally described as
follows:
Lots 12 and 13 in Frisbie Subdivision of part of the West
Half of the Northwest Quarter of Section 26, Township 41
North, Range 11, East of the Third Principal Meridian, in
Cook County, Illinois.
Section 2: That a setback variation be granted to permit the
Northern half of the building to be five (5) feet closer to the
neighboring property than allowed under the Zoning Ordinance.
Section 3: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval according to law.
