AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 3. CHAPTER 2, SECTION 8E MUNICIPAL
TELECOMMUNICATIONS TAX OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK
GROVE VILLAGE ALLOWING THE VILLAGE MANAGER TO AUTHORIZE AN
ALTERNATE REMITTANCE REQUIREMENTS
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees determined that an
alternative method of collecting the Municipal Telecommunications Tax
would provide the Village with greater flexibility;
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees determined that in
order to increase efficiency, the Village Manager should be empowered
to alter the remittance time -frames for certain telecommunication
firms.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and
DuPage, State of Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That Section 3-2-8E of Title 3, Municipal
Telecommunications Tax, of the Village Code of the Village of Elk
Grove Village, be amended as follows:
Unless otherwise approved by the Village Manager
the Municipal Telecommunications tax shall be
remitted by the telecommunications retailer to the
Village on or before the last day of each calendar
month. Every retailer maintaining a place of
business in this State and every retailer
authorized by the Village to collect the tax
imposed by this Section shall file with the Finance
Department a remittance return and remit all
applicable tax for the preceding calendar month.
The return shall be filed on a form prescribed by
the Village containing such information as the
Village may reasonably require.
Section 2: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage, approval, and publication according to
law.
