AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A SPECIAL USE PERMIT TO SOUTHWESTERN BELL MOBILE
SYSTEMS, INC. d/b/a CELLULAR ONE - CHICAGO TO PERMIT THE INSTALLATION
OF WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATION ANTENNAS ON THE ELK GROVE VILLAGE WATER
TOWER AND THE CONSTRUCTION OF A 30 FOOT BY 25 FOOT EQUIPMENT SHELTER ON
PROPERTY LOC AT .D AT 1141 AWTHORN . LANF.ELK -ROVE VI,LAGE
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Elk Grove Village,
acting as a Zoning Commission, conducted a public hearing at the
request of Cellular One to consider the granting of a Special Use
Permit to permit the installation of wireless telecommunication
antennas and the construction of a 30 foot by 25 foot unpainted
equipment shelter on property located at 1141 Hawthorne Lane, Elk Grove
Village and legally described hereinafter; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees after having
considered the finding and recommendation of said Plan Commission find
and believe it to be in the best interest of the Village and that
Special Use Permit be granted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and
DuPage, Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That there be granted a Special Use Permit to
Southwestern Bell Mobile Systems, Inc. d -b -a Cellular One - Chicago to
permit the installation of nine (9) wireless telecommunication antennas
at a height of 94 feet on the Elk Grove Village water tower and the
construction of a 30 foot by 25 foot equipment shelter to match the
existing Ameritech equipment shelter, including fencing and landscaping
on property located at 1141 Hawthorne Lane, Elk Grove Village and
legally described as follows:
Outlot F in Huntington Chase Phase Two, being a Subdivision
of a part of Section 31, Township 41 North, Range 11, East
of the Third Principal Meridian, according to the plat
thereof recorded on June 5, 1995, as Document No. 95363870,
in Cook County, Illinois.
Section 2: The Village is considering the possibility of
having a red aircraft warning light installed on top of the water tower
involved in this Special Use Permit. Should the Village, in its
investigation of this consideration, determine that the installation
can be approved by the FAA or other applicable agency and the continued
maintenance of the light would not be an undue burden on the Village,
then and in that event, upon written request of the Village, Cellular
One agrees to contribute funds to the Village in conjunction with
Nextel Communications, for the installation of a red aircraft warning
light on top of the water tower in such manner and according to such
standards as are established by the Village of Elk Grove Village.
Prior thereto, Cellular One can utilize its Special Use Permit and
install the wireless telecommunication antennas as above set forth.
Section 3: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval according to law.
