AN ORDINANCE INCREASING TAXI FARE RATES
AND THE DISPATCHER LICENSE FEE FOR TAXI CAB
SERVICE IN TH • VILLAGE OF ELKGROVE—V-ILja&aZ
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Elk Grove Village, sitting as a Public Vehicle
Commission, conducted a Public Hearing to consider the
question of increasing taxi cab rates at the request of
American Taxi Company; and
WHEREAS, the Commission was advised that there has been
no increase in said rates for a period of 6 years; and
WHEREAS, the Public Vehicle Commission, after having
heard the opinion and recommendation of the JPZ Committee
who has held Public Hearings and Meetings with respect to
Taxi Cab Service, find and believe that the increase in taxi
fare rates as requested is reasonable; and
WHEREAS, the JPZ Committee has also recommended that
the taxi cab dispatcher license fee be increased from
$200.00 to $500.00 in light of the time and involvement of
the Village in regulating this service;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED, by the President and
Board of Trustees, of the Village of Elk Grove Village,
Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That Section 3-7A-5 D. Established Rates
and charges of taxi cabs be in the same is hereby amended by
making the following changes:
1. Two dollars eighty cents ($2.80) for the

it pertains to Public Passenger Vehicle Dispatcher Fees) be
amended by increasing the fee from $200.00 to $500.00 for
said license.
Section 3: That this Ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage and approval according
to law.
VOTE: AYES: 6 NAYS: 0 ABSENT: 0
