AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3-9B-7 DUTY OF
SOLICITORS TO EXTEND REGULATIONS PERTAINING TO
SOLICITORS TO INDUSTRIAL AND COMMERCIAL USES
BE IT ORDAINED, by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and
DuPage Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That Section 3-9B-7 Duty of Solicitors of
the Village Code be and the same is hereby amended to read
as follows:
3-9B-7: DUTY OF SOLICITORS: It shall
be the duty of every solicitor,
upon going onto any premises in
the Municipality to first examine
if notice provided for in Section
3-9B-6 of this Article is attached
and to be governed by the statement
contained on such notice. If the
notice states NO SOLICITORS INVITED
or words to that effect, then the
solicitor, whether registered or
not, shall immediately and peacefully
depart from the premises. Any
solicitor who has gained entrance
to any residence or business, whether
invited or not, shall immediately and
peacefully depart from the premises
when requested to do so by the
occupant.
Section 2: That any person, firm or corporation
violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be
subject to a fine of not less than $25.00 nor more than
$500.00 for each offense.
Section 3: That the Village Clerk is hereby
authorized to publish this Ordinance in pamphlet form.
Section 9: That this Ordinance shall be in full force
from and after its passage approval and publication
according to law.
