HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCE - 3752 - 4/26/2022 - Amending Section 6-4-5-1, 1-4-4-1 Prohibited Parking od Semi-Tractor and Semi-Trailer Vehicle FinesORDINANCE NO.3752 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 6-4-5-1 AND 1-4-4-1 OF THE VILLAGE CODE REGARDING PROHIBITED PARKING OF SEMI -TRACTOR AND SEMI- TRAILER VEHICLES AND APPLICABLE FINES ASSOCIATED THERETO WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees have been advised by the Chief of Police of the rampant increase of overnight truck parking in the Village's Business Park with the recommendation for an increase in the penalties and fines associated therewith; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees, in concurring with the recommendation with the Chief of Police, find and believe it to be in the best interests of the Village that the parking prohibition be acted upon. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows: Section 1: That Section 6-4-5-1 of the Village Code be amended by adding thereto the following: D. Prohibited Semi -Tractor or Semi -Trailer Parking It shall be unlawful for any person to stop, stand, park or leave standing any semi -tractor or semi -trailer on any public street between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Any person, firm or corporation violating the provisions of this section shall be subject to a fine of not less than $300.00 for each offense. Section 2: That Section 1-4-4-1 of the Village Code be amended by adding thereto the following sentence: Should any section set forth in sections 6-4-5-1, 6-4-5-2, and 6-4-5-3 impose a minimum fine greater than one hundred dollars ($100.00), then the fine entered by the Village's administrative adjudication officer, if applicable, shall not be less than the higher minimum fine established nor more than seven hundred, fifty dollars ($750.00) for each offense. Section 3: Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be subject to a fine of not less than $300.00 nor more than $750.00 for each offense. Section 4: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication according to law.
