AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING REGULATIONS FOR TEMPORARY SIGNS
LOCATED IN PROXIMITY TO THE
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS ROAD/BIESTERFIELD ROAD CORRIDOR
BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois
as follows:
Section 1: That Section 8-4-1-B. Definitions of Chapter 4,
Sign Regulations of the Municipal Code of the Village of Elk Grove
Village be and the same is hereby amended by adding thereto the
following:
Biesterfield/Arlington Corridor - That area of land
abutting Biesterfield Road, between Wellington Avenue
on the West and Arlington Heights Road on the East lying
within two hundred and fifty (250') feet of the center-
line of Biesterfield Road and that area of land abutting
Arlington Heights Road located within the shopping cen-
ter located at the Southwest corner of Arlington Heights
Road and Biesterfield Road, and within two hundred and
fifty (250') feet of the centerline of Arlington Heights
Road.
Section 2: That Section 8-4-3-2:I-1 of the Municipal Code
be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
I. Temporary Signs:
1. Generally: Temporary signs as permitted in
subsection 8-4-4C of this Chapter except that
all temporary signs, including, but not limited
to window signs, banner signs and pennant signs,
irrespective of their size, shall be prohibited
within the Biesterfield/Arlington Corridor area
as defined within Section 8-4-1 of this Chapter.
Section 3: Any person violating the provisions of this Ordi-
nance shall be subject to a fine of not less than Twenty -Five Dollars
($25.00) nor more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for each of-
fense, and a separate offense shall be deemed committed on each
day during or on which a violation or failure to comply occurs or
continues to exist.
Section 4: That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized to
publish this Ordinance in pamphlet form.
Section 5: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and ef-
fect from and after its passage, approval and publication according
to law.
