KNICKERBOCKER Village Attorney Pursuant to a duly made and approved motion and a majority vote at a regularly scheduled meeting of the Village President and Board of Trustees on August 11, 2020, this Executive Session was called to consider review of Personnel. Number of pages attached: Date(s) of review for release: Date of approval for release: February 2021 Date approved by Village Board: September 08, 2020 August 11, 2020 The Village Manager explained that there is an opportunity to retain talented staff by creating an Assistant HR Director position. Part of this position would be to support diversity, equity and inclusion, as well as assisting the Fire & Police Commission with minority recruitment. Lamar Jones currently works with the Fire and Police Commission, and has been a part of regional efforts to increase the diversity of candidates for Police Officer. He is also well respected among Village staff, and is a very talented and dedicated member of staff. Lamar is the leading candidate for the position. With the approval of the Board, the job would be posted this week, as an internal only advertisement. Formal documents creating the position will be placed on the September 8 Board Agenda. The consensus of the Board was to approve the creation of the Assistant HR Director position. The meeting was adjourned at 6:07 pm.
