Pursuant to a duly made and approved motion and a majority vote at a regularly scheduled meeting
of the Village President and Board of Trustees on August 11, 2020, this Executive Session was
called to consider review of Land Acquisition/Disposition.

The current developers for the former Elk Grove Hotel site will not be able to meet the date
requirements in the RDA to begin construction on the planned hotel, and is requesting a one year
extension for the start of the first hotel. The Village has an opportunity to negotiate the end of
the existing RDA for this site, since they have not met their obligation to being construction on
this site.
The cultivation center currently in Elk Grove Village needs a larger facility. They want their
current facility to be used as a craft grow facility, and are interested in building a new facility on
the former Elk Grove Hotel. This new facility would generate an estimated $400,000 in revenue,
and $60,000 in donations towards community health and benefit programs. The Village would
be able to approve the aesthetics of the building, which would be planned as a two-story facility.
The consensus of the Board was to authorize negotiations to end the current RDA for the former
Elk Grove Hotel site and to direct staff to explore a possible sale of the site to the cultivation
center.
