KNICKERBOCKER Village Attorney Pursuant to a duly made and approved motion and a majority vote at a regularly scheduled meeting of the Village President and Board of Trustees on September 8, 2020, this Executive Session was called to consider review of Land Acquisition. Number of pages attached: Date(s) of review for release: Date of approval for release: I February 2021 Date approved by Village Board: September 22, 2020 September 8, 2020 The Board was advised that due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the hotel market, the proposed developer of the former Elk Grove Motel site will not be able to move forward with the construction of the proposed two (2) hotels and the retail outlot development. Staff has met with developer, and during that meeting the developer offered to amend his RDA to construct only the TRU by Hilton on the Motel 6 site. The amendment to the RDA would set date specific targets such as dates to submit plans, obtain approvals, and commence construction. Moreover, the amended RDA would be structured as such to provide the land at no cost once the developer pulls their permits. There would also be a claw -back if they do not start construction. It was the consensus of the Board to direct staff to renegotiate a new RDA for the proposed TRU by Hilton redevelopment. The meeting was adjourned at 6:03 pm.
