AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 6-6-3-6 OF THE ELK GROVE VILLAGE
CODE PERTAINING TO MASSAGE PARLORS EXEMPTING THEREFROM
MASSAGE THERAPY PROVIDED BY THE ELK GROVE VILLAGE PARK DISTRICT
BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illi-
nois as follows:
Section 1: That Section 6-6-3-6, Massage Parlors, of the
Village Code be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
6-6-3-6: MASSAGE PARLORS: Massage salon, bath parlor
or any similar type business where any physical contact
with the recipient of such services is provided by a
person of the opposite sex is hereby prohibited. This
Section shall not apply to a physician, surgeon, chiro-
practor, osteopath or physical therapist duly licensed
by the State of Illinois; to a licensed nurse acting
under the direct prescription and direction of any such
physician, surgeon, chiropractor or osteopath; to bar-
ber shops or beauty parlors in which massage is given
to the scalp, the face, the neck or the shoulders; to
massage therapy provided and operated by the Elk Grove
Park District Fitness Center.
Section 2: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval according to law.
