Pursuant to a duly made and approved motion and a majority vote at a regularly scheduled meeting
of the Village President and Board of Trustees on October 13, 2020, this Executive Session was
called to consider review of Personnel.

Chief Walsh is proposing to expand the Public Service Officer program beginning January 1,
2021. The Committee discussed that there are many calls for service that do not require a sworn
police officer to respond. PSOs can enforce any local ordinance, including parking tickets. Chief
Walsh is considering hiring either an additional four full-time or eight part-time PSOs, or some
combination of this. The Committee discussed the possibility of hiring retired EGV police
officers for these positions.
The consensus of the Committee was to move forward with creating four new full-time
equivalent CSO positions.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:25 pm.
