AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 8-13-1 E. OF THE VILLAGE CODE
RELATING TO THE TIME PERIOD FOR THE DESIGNATION OF PROPERTY
AS A BLIGHT AREA IN THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and
DuPage, Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That Section 8-13-1 E. Ordinance of Determination
of the Village Code be and the same is hereby amended to read as
follows:
E. Ordinance of Determination. The Corporate Authorities
may, by ordinance, within 14 to 180 days from the completion
of the public hearing provided for in subsection C. determine
that all or a part of the area described in the public
notices published and mailed pursuant to subsection D. is a
blight area. Said ordinance shall designate the blight area,
set forth the boundaries of the blight area and the factors
that exist in the blight area that are detrimental to the
public health, safety, morals and/or welfare.
Section 2: That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized to
publish this Ordinance in pamphlet form.
Section 3: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, approval and publication according
to law.
